A Daughter's Daughter Mary Westmacott aka Agatha Christie Dell 1674

Not sure why a writer would use a pseudonym then include her real name on the same cover. I would venture to guess that this story did not sell well under the Westmacott pseudonym and after the author's death, the estate probably wanted to milk everything they can from the Agatha Christie name hence the re-branding. Based on the author's website, the Westmacott name was use by Christie because she wanted to write stories that were different from what readers expected of her stories - which was of the closed door murder mysteries.

Martha, Martha. A Biblical Novel 1961 by Patricia McGerr Dell F187

Biblical novels were quite popular in the 1950s & 1960s. Brought about by the many Hollywood movies that got their story lines from Biblical stories. Movies like The Ten Commandments, The Robe, Samson & Delilah were the blockbusters of that era. So it was only natural that novels with Biblical themes would carry over to the literary field. During Holyweek in the Philippines in the 1970s, Victor Mature's The Robe or Robert Taylor's Quo Vadis would be repeated on free TV over and over and over and over. I got this book in relatively good condition at a price of P10 in 2011 based on the sticker price. No one bought it at P17 so it was discounted to P10.

Too Near The Sun 1955 by Gordon Forbes First Edition D56

So this is my first post. After I registered this blog, I suddenly realized that it's quite a daunting task to scan & upload all of my books. My scanner takes forever to scan a book cover. After which I still need to enhance the image to make it more appealing in color and appearance. Anyway, here are the front & back covers of the first book for this blog. It's not a favorite book. It just so happens that it was near me when I decided to start scanning.
